Hello,
My name is Eric Burgwald. my son Brian works at the Oxnard and Camarillo
airports. Mr. plumb left his briefcase at the airport and my son Brian retrieved
it for him. a short while later Brian received a copy of his book with a
personal inscription. brian and i have both read it, and it was fascinating as
well as disturbing. I could not put it down, and finished it in 5 days. a
miracle for me! i find it difficult to complain or feel sorry for myself any
more. I've learned to be grateful for what i have. many do not have the freedom
we do or the love I have in my life.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, and I'm glad you made it home and are well...and thank you for serving our country.
Sincerely,
- Eric Burgwald

You probably don’t remember me but you spoke at one of our conventions about 3 years ago with Tropical Smoothie Café. My name is Sam Osborne and we ate breakfast together before you spoke to our group (I was about 29 at the time and had worked on the ejection seats for the F-4 Phantom Wild Weasels in the Air Force prior to getting out and graduating from college and then moving on to Tropical Smoothie). I just bought a copy of your book and also one of videos to give to a friend of mine whose father just had to have his foot amputated and is going through depression thinking that his whole world is not ending. I spoke to her about you talk to us a few years ago and how it really puts things in perspective and about how you said our adversities isn’t the 8 foot wall around us but the 8 inches between our ears. I bought a book for her a couple of days ago and ordered the video this morning to give to her as well. I often tell people about your speech when people are talking about everyday problems and I often think of it myself when dealing with day to day issues and you are a constant reminder that things are not as tough as they seem. I just wanted to drop you a line since I was at your site today and to thank you again for the help that you have probably given to a lot of people.
